Top 10 List (week of 6/16)

    10. Thank you all so much for your help with our first home B meet last night. As always, it was a joy to watch our Minis in their first race of the season. The meet took longer than expected, but we were so grateful to have provided an opportunity for our swimmers to swim all strokes (and IM). Special shout out to everyone who stayed late and helped us put the pool back together.

    9. Today’s Bowling activity was a huge success. More than 60 bowlers showed up. Special thanks to Kathleen Miller for organizing.

    8. Tomorrow is picture day (and bagel day). If you have pre-paid for individual photos please arrive at the pool by 7:30am. The group photo set up will begin at 8. ALL SWIMMERS SHOULD BE ON DECK NO LATER THAN 8AM.

    7. Friday night is pool noodle night and the belly flop contest! Swimmers are welcome to bring a pool noodle to the pool and all are invited to participate in the belly flop contest (including parents). Please note: pool noodles are the only floating device allowed- NO RAFTS.

    6. The theme for Saturday’s meet is tie-dye. Wear your favorite tie-tye t-shirt to the meet (bonus points if you have tie dye shorts!)

    5. Saturday’s meet at Brookfield will start at 8:30 due to the high temperatures expected this weekend. Swimmers must arrive at the pool by 7:45. (13615 Pennsboro Drive Chantilly, VA 20151). It will take atleast 30 minutes to get to the pool, please plan accordingly . Goggles, swim caps (no logos other than the Truro logo), and team suits for Saturday. And water, LOTS of water. There will also be concessions at Brookfield.

    4. We are planning a team meal meet up after the meet Saturday for anyone who is interested in joining. Details will be sent by Friday.

    3. Please continue to remind your children about the good sportsmanship skills we have been practicing- cheering for their teammates, waiting for all swimmers to finish before getting out of the water, and shaking hands with the swimmers in the lanes next to them.

    2. There is no B meet next Monday, 6/24. Please be sure you have gone in declared your swimmer’s availability for BOTH Relay Carnival on 6/26 and the A meet on 6/29.

1.If you see 15-18 swimmer, Batyr Turatbekov, at the swim meet Saturday morning, be sure to give him a high five. Batyr will be leaving the Saturday meet after freestyle to attend his U.S. Citizenship ceremony.

Have a great rest of the week. See you on the pool deck.
