Mid Week Updates & What's Up Next
Volunteer Burnout -it’s a real thing and it’s normal at this point in the season to start to feel it. And the weather is not helping. No one, and I mean NO ONE wants to stand in the 100+ degree heat and official or time or clerk of course or marshal or GRILL (gosh we were so grateful for our grillers on Monday night). The end of the season is near and you will miss this. Believe us, you will miss it. Please continue to show up and volunteer for our upcoming meets and activities and enjoy the comradery of your fellow Swordfish parent volunteers (who are hopefully by now your new friends of summer).
Keep your energy up – there is a lot to look forward to….
Today's activity is Ultrazone, Thursday is an afternoon clinic from 3-4 for 12 & Unders on Butterfly AND Progressive Dinner for the 13-18s, and Friday is CAKE BAKE!!!!!
We are trying to do our part to keep the clubhouse clean. Unfortunately, cake bake AND clean just don’t go together, so we are going to try and host the cake bake in the parking lot this year and see what happens. If it rains and we need to move it inside, we will. If that happens we will need lots of extra hands for clean up.
Saturday is our last Home A meet against Mosby Woods and Senior Day for Finlay! The theme for Saturday is green and yellow (or gold). Wonder why? Ask Finlay where she is headed to college in the fall. We can’t wait to celebrate Finlay and our Senior friends from Mosby Woods. All swimmers are encouraged to come to the meet on Saturday and cheer on the Swordfish.
There are lots of things happening next week too and we will share more details in our next big communication, but just so you have these on your calendar…
Monday is IM Carnival – swimmers must have a legal IM time or be legal in all 4 strokes and have had a conversation with Coach Sarah in order to sign up.
Wednesday is pancake breakfast and SPLASHDOWN. Did you know 90% of graduating Seniors mention SPLASHDOWN in their Senior write up?
Thursday is the last regular practice of the season for all swimmers.
Friday is busy. We will have two short practices in the morning for the Divisional swimmers starting at 7:45. And **NEW*** beginning at 9am we will be hosting a Lollipop Meet for our 10 & Under swimmers at Truro with our friends from Rutherford. If your child is a B meet swimmer under the age of 10 or a mini this is a chance to race one last time this season and receive a lollipop! The older swimmers will be the timers (and givers of lollipops) and will help run Clerk of Course. It’s a crazy but very short event. We will also be hosting our very last pep rally of the season – karaoke night & crazy hair.
Saturday is Divisionals, our End of Season Banquet and Late Night Swim for all Swordfish and their families.
See you on the pool deck.
Amy & Karen
