    Air Quality Concerns

    Dear Swordfish Families,

We are monitoring the air quality forecast for tomorrow and want to share our current plan so everyone knows what to expect if you have air quality concerns. Currently, the NVSL is not cancelling meets, and our top priority is the health and safety of our swimmers, coaches, volunteers, and families while also making every effort to hold the meet as scheduled.

To help reduce outdoor exposure, we have several options available:

    • Stay in Your Vehicle: Families are welcome to wait in their cars in the parking lot and come to the pool only when their swimmer's event is approaching.
    • Masks: Masks will be available for anyone who would like one, and we encourage their use by those who feel more comfortable wearing one.
    • Arrive for Your Events: If you prefer, swimmers may arrive shortly before their scheduled events and leave once they have completed their swims, rather than remaining at the pool for the entire meet.
    • For medical needs: Please reach out to us about the use of the clubhouse.

We encourage families to make the decision that is best for your swimmer. If your swimmer has asthma or another respiratory condition, please consult your healthcare provider and bring any necessary medications, such as an inhaler.

We will continue to monitor the AQI and communicate any changes to the meet schedule or format as we receive updated information. If conditions change significantly, we will notify everyone as soon as possible.

Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we work to provide a safe and successful meet for everyone.

We look forward to seeing you at the pool!

    Best,

    Jen and Sarah
