Mon Jun 13 2022	Picture Day and Bagel Breakfast Truro Pool Start: 7:30 AM End: 10:45 AM Picture Day for your Swordfish! Individual (or sibling) photos are on a first come, first served basis. We will be handing out numbers for the order in which individual photos are taken. The team photo will be taken at 8am so ALL swimmers should be at the pool NLT 7:55am for the team photo. Any individual photos that are not taken prior to the team photo will be taken after the team photo. Order forms/more information to come. Parents, please plan to stay with your younger swimmers and sign up to volunteer.

Sat Jul 24 2021	Awards Ceremony and Late Night Swimming Truro 4146 Elizabeth Ln, Annandale, VA 22003 Start: 5:30 PM End: 9:00 PM (estimated) Please RSVP on Swimtopia if you will NOT be able to make it so that we can put your swimmer's stuff aside for you (this will help the night go quicker). Schedule for the Night: We will start promptly at 5:30 pm on the pool deck. We will have some speeches, the coaches will hand out a special paper plate for every swimmer, and awards and team gifts will be given out. We will then take a quick break for cake and then head to the clubhouse to see the annual slideshow that Coach Mary puts together - it's a recap of our FANTASTIC 2021 season! We will also have an envelope for each family with any leftover stuff from the season (ribbons, t-shirts, pictures, etc.). All swim team families are encouraged to join us for this last get-together of the season!

Fri Jul 23 2021	Lollipop Meet & Mini Awards @ Truro Truro Pool Start: 9:00 AM End: 11:00 AM (estimated) The annual Lollipop meet is usually hosted but another team but they have elected to cancel this year due to COVID. So we're going to throw our OWN lollipop meet at Truro! It will be Friday, July 23rd, 2021 at Truro Pool. This is a special B Meet for Mini Swordfish and 8 and Unders not swimming in Divisionals. This meet is designed to encourage our young swimmers to swim further and different strokes than they have all season. A lot of kids swim their first 25 meter freestyle and/or their first attempt at other strokes at the Lollipop meet. Arrival: Swimmers should arrive at Truro pool by 8:45am. Events: Swimmers can participate in 2 strokes. Events include the short course (10m in dive well) with kickboard, short course freestyle, short course backstroke, and 25 free, 25 back, 25 breast and 25 fly! Please sign up your swimmer and select events using SwimTopia. Awards: Swimmers will not receive ribbons for this meet, but the kids will receive lollipops after each event. The races will be timed, but will not be recorded on timecards (or in Swimtopia), so swimmers should ask for their times after each race. Volunteers: Our older swimmers and Mini coaches will staff most of the volunteer positions but we ask that parents be ready to jump in to help when needed! After the Lollipop meet: The Minis will stay at the pool to receive their season awards from Coach Mary and the assistant coaches. The 8 & unders will get paper plate awards and team gift at Awards night on Saturday night.
Thu Jul 22 2021	Progressive Dinner See Description Start: 6:00 PM End: 8:30 PM (estimated) For 13 and over swimmers only One of our swimmers' favorite traditions is the progressive dinner. The swimmers should dress up. The dinner starts with appetizers at the pool (provided by the coaches), the Ahrens family is going to host dinner, and the Lucas family is going to host dessert.
Wed Jul 21 2021	Splash Down Water Park Splash Down Water Park This event is open to ALL Truro Swim/Dive team members and their families. Every person attending MUST have a ticket, even if you don't plan to swim. Date: Wednesday, July 21st Time: We have reserved the shaded pavilion Banana Cabana from 12-6PM, but you can come and stay as long as you like.The pavilion can accommodate up to 150 people. Chairs in this area will be first come/first serve. Location: Splashdown Waterpark: 7500 Ben Lomond Park Road, Manassas, VA, 20109 Website: http://splashdownwaterpark.com/ Prices: Over 48” $16.25 Under 48” $12 Seniors age 60+ $10 Ages 2 and under free. Tickets are sold only at the gate. Note: Parents are responsible for all kids attending the event. Coaches, Swim Reps, and event POC will not be responsible for supervising kids at Splashdown Waterpark. This is one of the most fun and memorable social events of the season. We'd love to see everyone there!

Wed Jul 14 2021	SkyZone SkyZone Springfield Start: 1:00 PM End: 2:00 PM This is a meet-up opportunity for kids who want to jump and bounce at Skyzone. For people who are interested, they can purchase tickets directly from Skyzone and know their teammates will be there from 1:00 - 2:00. We encourage non-vaccinated jumpers to wear masks.
