Lollipop Meet @ Rutherford (for Minis, 8 & unders, and 9-10)

The annual Lollipop meet for is Friday July 26, 2019 at Rutherford Pool, 4609 Marley Road, Fairfax, VA. This is a special B Meet for Mini Swordfish, 8 and Unders, and 9-10 not swimming in Divisionals. This meet is designed to encourage our young swimmers to swim further and different strokes than they have all season. A lot of kids swim their first 25 meter freestyle and/or their first attempt at other strokes at the Lollipop meet.
Arrival: Swimmers should arrive at Rutherford Pool by 8:15 AM. Events: Swimmers can participate in 2 strokes. Events include the short course with kickboard, short course freestyle, short course backstroke, and 25 free, 25 back, 25 breast and 25 fly plus 50 free, 50 back and 50 breast for the 9-10s! Please sign up your swimmer and select events using Swimtopia. Awards: Swimmers will not receive ribbons for this meet, but the kids will receive lollipops after each event. The races will be timed, but will not be recorded on timecards (or in Swimtopia), so swimmers should ask for their times after each race. This is open to ALL Truro Swim/Dive team members and their families! Every person attending MUST have a ticket, even if you don't plan to swim. Date: Wednesday July 24 Payment Deadline MONDAY July 22 Place: Splashdown Waterpark, 7500 Ben Lomond Park Rd, Manassas, VA 20109 Website: http://splashdownwaterpark. Time: Please be there as close to noon as possible, and stay as long as you like! Cost: $12 per person This year we have reserved the Banana Cabana, a shaded pavilion that can accommodate 150 people. Chairs in this area will be first come/first serve for the event! Note: Parents are responsible for all kids attending the event. Coaches, Swim Reps, and event POC will not be responsible for the kids at Splashdown Park. Payment must be made by Monday July 22 through PayPal at [email protected], Zelle at [email protected] or via check. ALL THOSE ENTERING THE PARK ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A TICKET EVEN IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO SWIM. B Meet IM Carnival at Truro

The teams of our B-Meet League meet to compete on an individual basis in the Individual Medley(IM) Carnival. At the IM Carnival, all participating swimmers swim the Individual Medley - one length of the pool of each of the four stokes in the following order: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle. The IM is an event not swum in Saturday A-Meets, but times can be used to qualify swimmers for Divisionals. (Note that in order to participate in the IM Carnival, swimmers must be legal in all four strokes.) |
